Ajith Jeyakumar owes much of his successful career as an entrepreneur, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Vaaj Group to his determination, commitment and his unwavering loyalty to customer-centricity.
In 1998 Ajith relocated to Melbourne, Australia to continue his higher education. It wasn’t until 1999, however, that Ajith would develop an interest in hospitality industry, when he began working as part-timer at a boutique cleaning company. He sensed an opportunity when he realised how underserviced the industry was. He has made it his quest to fill all of the gaps that kept appearing during his engagements with clients.
Ajith then successfully embarked on his business venture in hospitality industry in 2000 with an eye towards expanding into multiple enterprises. Ajith was determined to create a brand that would represent his commitment, passion and value. The brand Vaaj was born which is inextricably tied to himself Varun Ajith Ashok Jeyakumar.
The longevity Ajith has cultivated is based on the respect and value he gives his customers. He works in collaboration with his customers to understand their needs and used every opportunity to grow with them. As a result, he expanded his services to multiple arms within hospitality industry and into other enterprises and across multiple locations within Australia and now working on expanding further into South East Asia.
Ajith is a strong advocate for improving health and enjoying enhanced wellbeing.. When he came across a business venture in the fitness industry, he took it on with an exhilaration. He launched his first fitness venture in Sri Lanka in 2015. His success in this industry was through simply enticing people into the fitness centre, by deploying the very best experts, equipment and resources which has supported an exponential growth since the launch. His pledge and belief in helping as many people as possible in their personal fitness wellbeing, coupled with growth mindset, has now helped him to extend his growth into Hospitality Enterprises.
After working so hard towards his business goals, Ajith is now working on giving back to the community. He is now in the process of creating Vaaj’s philanthropic arm, dedicated to help children under 10 years in need, especially children who have been diagnosed with cancer in Sri Lanka.
Ajith built his life around being authentic to himself and his stance guided by his ethical and moral compass. He leads with his heart and passion and only does what he believes is right. Whether its business or personal, he is always looking for opportunities to embark on new journey!
